ProLinx, brand products from ProSoft, is the Standalone Gateway division of ProSoft. There are three major groups that make up the ProLinx product line. They are the standalone wired industrial protocol gateway and expander, the Wireless Gateway, and the App Server a Plant to Enterprise (P2E) solution. There are over 200 products in this line, and they support dozens of protocols.

Above is a sample listing of of the protocols that the ProLinx modules supports. They support Serial and Ethernet protocols, and can transition between the two. The units are DIN rail mountable, and come in an extruded Aluminum housing. In addition to the protocols, the also have the ability to act as a web server.
App Server Large

The App Server is a powerful multipurpose product capable of serving as a Data Concentrator, Multi Protocol converter, Master Gateway, Historian, and PLC. This unit is the the ideal product to buffer data between the plant floor, and the corporate network. Some Key Features:

  • Up to 5 Serial & 2 Ethernet Ports
  • Optionally programmable in the six  IEC-61131 Languages
  • Fully integrated with Pi Database using Echo
  • Features Data Safe™, a storage system to insure secure data retention even when the Enterprise System is down,

The wireless modules are new, but already support several protocols including DF1, Ethernet TCP/IP, Hart, and Profibus. The use a Wi-Fi 802.11b module and talk ProSoft Wireless Protocol (PWP) over the air. This allows them to any other module regardless of protocol. By going wireless, they are able to communicate unlike wired units, such as two Profibus masters may talk to each other without a controller.
